On my last backpacking trip at Montgomery Bell State Park, my brother and I walked past the church building that predates the Park, It was a beautiful day. Upon reaching this point, I knew that I had a chance at the "perfect shot". In Christendom, the cross has great meaning. It is a reminder how Jesus Christ, the Son of God was crucified. He death, like that of a common criminal, was not out of the ordinary, other than he was a completely innocent man. His burial was out of kindness by one who believed. His resurrection is all the difference.
Well when I saw the blue sky, the fluffy clouds, the cross and the sun, I knew I had a chance at the perfect shot. PHD* camera in hand, I tried to aim and focus looking through the LCD display on the camera. No, I did not look directly into the sun. Even so, I did not see whether I got the image I wanted or not until I got some and processed it on the computer.
And in this picture, the work of man's hands is transformed into so much more by the glory of the sun from above. How much more amazing is it that an instrument of agonizing death has been transformed by the Son of God. And we too can be transformed by Him.
